WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
The Study Permit issued by the Canadian government allows foreign nationals to study at designated educational institutions in Canada. It is required for those wishing to pursue academic, vocational, or professional courses for a duration longer than six months.

Renewal: Can be extended if the study program is extended or if the student changes institutions

Family Members: Spouses or common-law partners of some study permit holders may be eligible to apply for an open work permit, and dependent children may also be eligible to study in Canada with a study permit.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Letters of Acceptance and Attestation: Must have a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a designated Canadian educational institution and a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).
Financial Support: Must demonstrate sufficient annual funds of $20,635 to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and return transportation.
Ties to Home Country: Must demonstrate strong ties to the home country to ensure the return after studies.
CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
Designated Institutions: Must only study at a designated learning institution.
Extension: The student must apply for the extension within Canada before the current permit expires.
No Guarantee: Having a Study Permit does not guarantee entry into Canada; a Temporary Resident Visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) may also be required.
